Easy DIY Decorative Tray Table for Those Ballin’ on a Budget

With the weather being so nice this past weekend I was motivated to get an outdoor seating area going. I’m really trying to not spend right now because we have our 3 year anniversary coming up in a few weeks and my husbands birthday right after. Still, I felt like it was a top 3 priority to create a small area where we can spend a relaxing summer morning eating breakfast or a summer night with a glass…or a bottle of wine. Because I didn’t want to spend a lot, I hit Ikea, duh.

I found a large decorative tray for $6.99 which I thought was super cute but not a necessity. At the end of the Ikea maze I still hadn’t found a table and then it occurred to meΒ that I could literally just use the tray as a table top! With this idea in mind I ran back to the stool section to find some kind of a base. I grabbed the cheapest stool I could find, which was only $3.99, and here is the result…

When I got home I glued them together using super glue and now I have a table!

Ok . . . that’s a kind of ingenuity that I am not sure I am blessed with. But that’s awesome that you just got to thinking and it came to you. I wish my home decor skills were that good. The piece you made looks beautiful. And it probably comes in under budget.
